ACC President Pens Piece on China’s Role in Population Health

ACC President, Richard A. Chazal, MD, FACC, recently authored a perspective piece titled, “China may hold answers to addressing cardiovascular disease epidemic,” published in the April issue of the Journal of Translational Internal Medicine. Chazal delves into China’s rapid economic development, the influence that development has had on Chinese lifestyle trends, and the opportunities for improving global cardiovascular care tactics these shifts have presented. “Looking to the future, there is momentum within China and at the global level to work together to decrease the burden of cardiovascular diseases,” says Chazal. “China and the United States, in particular have extraordinary opportunities to share information and best practices and to truly learn from each other—where we are the same and where we are different.” Read the full article.
