Join the leaders of the Women in Cardiology (WIC) Section for a special leadership workshop - just for woman physicians and surgeons! Designed to empower women to lead effectively, be advocates for themselves and establish connections for career advancement, this workshop will arm participants with strategies for success that they can take back to their training or workplace.
Woman physicians in all career stages will benefit from content in this workshop. This intimate and highly interactive program will give participants the opportunity to network, share tips with their peers and learn from women cardiologists who have steered their own successful careers. Participants will construct their own personal career development plan, set goals and learn strategies for negotiating effectively, managing difficult conversations and more.
Learner Objectives
The overall objective of this workshop is to enhance learners’ competence in their ability to become effective leaders and advocates for themselves.
Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:
- Apply effective communication, negotiation and conflict management skills
- Discuss barriers to goal setting and explore resources available
- Define key career and leadership development skills
- Apply strategic decision-making skills, leadership competencies and personal effectiveness in the management of teams, departments and organizations
Target Audience
This course is intended for woman cardiologists and cardio-thoracic surgeons in every career stage – FIT through late-career.
