WASHINGTON (Nov 29, 2017) -

The American College of Cardiology will host the ACC Asia Pacific Conference 2017 in Shanghai in collaboration with the China Cardiovascular Association from Dec. 1-3, 2017, bringing together top experts to discuss and review new, relevant cardiovascular science pertinent to the region.

The conference, a collaboration between the ACC and 10 ACC chapters in the region, will provide a platform for cardiovascular professionals to increase their knowledge on key topics such as heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, cardiovascular disease prevention and more.

“It is important for the global cardiovascular community to collaborate on research, best practices and education,” said ACC Asia Pacific Conference co-chair Harlan Krumholz, MD, SM, FACC. “Through partnering with the China Cardiovascular Association, this conference will provide original, educational content that is locally relevant while providing a venue from us to learn from each other.”

We have given this meeting the highest priority and full support,” said Ge Junbo, MD, FACC, ACC Asia Pacific Conference co-chair. “I believe the ACC's advanced scientific ideas, combined with the latest guidelines, enable doctors from China and other Asian countries to improve the quality of their care. I hope that this will mark the successful start to a series of ACC Asia Pacific Conferences.”

Journal of the American College of Cardiology editor-in-chief Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, MACC, ACC Chief Innovation Officer John Rumsfeld, MD, FACC, and ACC Asia Pacific Conference co-chairs Harlan Krumholz, MD, SM, FACC, and Ge Junbo, MD, FACC, will be plenary speakers at the conference. Aaron D. Kugelmass, MD, FACC, also serves as a co-chair of the conference.
