WASHINGTON (Oct 08, 2024) -
The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Egyptian Society of Cardiology will virtually host ACC Middle East 2024 on October 16-18. The conference offers the opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest cardiovascular science and evidence-based strategies directly impacting patient care, explore emerging trends and exchange ideas and information with experts from the region and around the world. Posters and oral abstracts featuring the latest science from the region will also be presented during the conference.
“The ACC Middle East conference is an important component of the ongoing educational mission for the ACC on a global level. It supports interaction between cardiovascular professionals from various international regions,” said Tarek Helmy, MD, FACC, co-chair of the ACC Middle East 2024 conference and chief of the division of cardiovascular disease at LSU Shreveport School of Medicine. “The program has been carefully structured with comprehensive coverage of various topics and subspecialties within cardiovascular medicine to promote education and research. We look forward to attendees’ participation and contribution to this wonderful education event.”
Topics covered throughout the meeting will span the entire field of cardiovascular medicine, including can’t miss sessions:
- AI in Cardiology: Bridging US and European Union Perspectives
- Unlocking Imaging Modalities: Maximizing Clinical Utility Across Scenarios
- Addressing Cardiovascular Risk: Cases and Discussions on Novel Therapies and Genetic Considerations

“Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world and causes one-third of all deaths in the Middle East and North Africa each year,” said Mohamed A. Sobhy, MD, FACC, ACC Middle East 2024 conference co-chair and professor of cardiology at Alexandria University. “The ACC Middle East conference aims to provide clinicians from the region the opportunity to learn from global experts and consider new strategies to reduce the burden of heart disease on our patients. I'm excited to learn with and from everyone at the conference."
During the conference, ACC Middle East chapter teams will compete in ACC FIT Jeopardy, a competition between three-person teams of ACC Fellows-in-Training. Three teams will be quizzed on their clinical knowledge in a variety of topics, ranging from imaging, prevention and interventional cardiology. The winning team will compete at the ACC.25 FIT Jeopardy competition in Chicago in March 2025.
