Dhanunjaya (DJ) Lakkireddy

Dhanunjaya (DJ) Lakkireddy, MBBS, FACC, is a professor of medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center and board certified in cardiology and electrophysiology.  His research focus includes atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, remote magnetic navigation, alternative therapies for the treatment of AFib, and left atrial appendage. He is the governor of the American College of Cardiology’s Kansas chapter and member of the steering committee of the Board of Governors.  Dr. Lakkireddy is the founder of the Global Atrial Fibrillation Alliance, a not-for-profit organization, working toward a world free of AFib. He helped begin the World AF Awareness Day and AF run that is held worldwide on the second Saturday of September each year.

Donita Atkins

Donita Atkins, RN, CCA, is a nurse with the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Her primary focus is investigator initiated research in electrophysiology and sponsored clinical trials. She is a founding member of the Global Atrial Fibrillation Alliance and manages the World AFib Awareness Day program in the Kansas City area.

Kristen Bova Campbell

Kristen Bova Campbell, PHARMD , AACC,  is a clinical pharmacist at Duke University Hospital.  She maintains a clinical practice in electrophysiology.  She is also a senior research associate with the division of electrophysiology and the program director of the Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Cardiology Pharmacy Residency.  Dr. Campbell received her doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She completed a PGY1 Residency and PGY2 Cardiovascular Specialty Residency at UNC Hospitals.  Dr. Campbell is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist with added qualifications in cardiology.
