Chronic Total Occlusions Coronary Interventions: Current State of the Art and Best Practices

Webinar Overview

Mastering chronic total occlusions PCI: Unpack the data, indications, best practices and controversies in chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions, with a focus on Veterans Health Administration patient management.

Techniques and success rates for revascularization of chronically occluded coronary arteries has improved significantly over the past decade, yet the risks and benefits to patients is not always clear and continues to be debated. This webinar will review the data, indications and best practices for treating patients with CTOs, and explore some of the controversies surrounding CTO PCI, with particular attention to management of patients in the Veterans Affairs Health System.

Key Objectives/Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand the data describing risks and benefits of CTO PCI and current ACC guidelines for referring for patients for CTO revascularization.
  2. Identify appropriate indications and best practices for CTO interventions, and be able to risk stratify patients based on anatomic complexity and patient comorbidities.
  3. Apply best practices to managing patients with CTOs and understand how to implement a successful CTO program, especially in resource limited health systems.
