Advocacy 101: Advocating For Your Reproductive Health and Cardio-Obstetrics Patients

Webinar Overview

Learn from ACC's Advocacy Team and cardio-obstetrics experts about how to advocate for your reproductive health and cardio-obstetrics patients.

This webinar will discuss ways to advocate for your pregnant and postpartum patients. ACC advocacy staff will share information about current state and federal advocacy initiatives and how you can get involved in these efforts. This includes step-by-step details on how to express support for bills of particular importance to cardio-obstetrics and reproductive health. The webinar will also highlight three brief examples of how ACC members have advanced cardio-obstetrics issues across all levels of government, including:

  1. Joan E. Briller, MD, FACC: Experience promoting and supporting state Maternal Mortality Review Committees.
  2. Kayle Shapero, MD: Efforts advocating for state-level coverage of home self-measured blood pressure cuffs for pregnant and postpartum patients.
  3. Zainab Mahmoud, MD: Work in international advocacy for cardio-obstetrics.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask specific questions to the expert panel about advocacy at ACC. Our experts will equip you with the tools to advocate for key policy priorities at ACC's Legislative Conference and beyond. Learn more about ACC Legislative Conference 2025.
