In this episode, developed by the ACC Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease Section’s Hypertension Work Group, Dr. Tammy Brady discusses the numerous, often ignored, factors that can lead to inaccurate blood pressure assessment and the degree to which this may affect clinical management. Topics will include cuff size (with a particular focus on Dr. Brady’s recent research), insufficient rest before measuring BP, prescription medications, talking, and presence of staff, among others.
