ACC Maryland CV Team Spring Networking Event

The Maryland CV Team Leadership Council recently welcomed a diverse group of professionals for the spring networking event at the Blue Hill Tavern in Baltimore. It was a great evening and we got to know the wonderful new president, Joseph Edward Marine, MD, FACC, as he shared his vision for team-based care in the future of cardiology. John Lindsley, PharmD, a clinical pharmacist in cardiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and pharmacist representative on the Leadership Council, gave a phenomenal summary of the use of PCSK9 inhibitors, including a review of late-breaking trials.

A spirited debate ensued and we are now planning a talk on pharmaco-economics at our next gathering in the Fall! Marine also took the opportunity to present us with our 2018 Chapter Engagement Award, which he received at the Board of Governors meeting earlier this year. It was a memorable evening with great colleagues – a reminder for all of us of why the ACC is our professional home.
