    Richard Kovacs, MD, MACC
    Richard Kovacs, MD, MACC, is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the University of Cincinnati, School of Medicine. Dr. Kovacs completed his medicine residency at IU Medical Center. His fellowship training also was at IU, where he served as chief fellow and chief medical resident. Dr. Kovacs is the Chief Medical Officer of the American College of Cardiology and is the Q.E. and Sally Russell Professor of Cardiology at Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine. He is a Past President of the American College of Cardiology (2019-2020) and has served as chair of the ACC Board of Governors and held leadership roles on the ACC's Science and Quality Committee, the Joint ACC/AHA Clinical Guidelines Taskforce and NCDR Management Board.

    George W. Vetrovec, MD, MACC
    George W. Vetrovec, MD, MACC, earned his bachelor's degree and medical degree from the University of Virginia.  Dr. Vetrovec was an active Faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University 1976 to 2015 (39 years) including 38 years as director of the Cardiac Cath Lab and 18 years as Director of the Division of Cardiology. He was a pioneer in PCI, a committed ACC Board Member and has received numerous awards including Master of the ACC and VCU Clinician of the Year and the VCU Presidential Medallion. Since retirement, Dr. Vetrovec remains on multiple boards and committees including Chairman of the Senior Council of the ACC.

    L. Samuel Wann, MD, MACC
    L. Samuel Wann, MD, MACC, earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University in 1968 and medical degree from Indiana in 1971, where he trained in internal medicine and cardiology at Indiana. Dr. Wanna subsequently served on the faculty there, as well as at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and the University of Wisconsin. He serves as a cardiology consultant to the Great Ape Heart Project caring for non-human primates in American Zoologic Association zoos.

    Malissa J. Wood, MD, FACC
    Malissa J. Wood, MD, FACC, completed her undergraduate and medical degrees in a combined program from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, followed by training in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine at  the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in Boston, where she served as Chief Medical Resident. In 2000, Dr. Wood joined the staff of Massachusetts General Hospital where she serves as the Associate Chief of Cardiology for Diversity and Health Equity. She is the immediate-past Governor of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, is a Trustee of the ACC and is the Chair of the ACC Board of Governors.
