About the Section / Work Group
The ACPC Quality Working Group focuses on designing and implementing clinical tools and process/quality improvement projects aimed towards improving outcomes in pediatric and adult congenital disease and delivering high value care. The group currently comprises of ~25 pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists of diverse backgrounds and clinical expertise. The objectives of this group are to design clinical practice algorithms to reduce practice variations in outpatient management of congenital heart disease. This group plays a key role in advancing initiatives related to clinical practice of outpatient congenital heart disease within the ACC community.
Our work supports members, trainees and early career professionals to standardize their outpatient surveillance of congenital heart lesions. It provides the framework for guiding professionals providing care to these patients to collaborate within their institutions to reduce practice variation and improve resource utilization.
