ACC Survey Spotlights Burnout in CICU-Focused Clinicians
Cardiac intensive care unit (CICU)-focused clinicians reported high job satisfaction, yet one in three also reported burnout, according to the first study to investigate burnout in this population, published in JACC: Advances. Samuel B. Brusca, MD, along with other members of ACC’s Critical Care Cardiology Member Section, found that burnout was more common among women and clinicians in later career stages and was the leading reason respondents considered a practice change.
