ACC's awards programs are designed to both honor those who have made a difference in cardiology, and inspire and support the next generation of cardiovascular professionals. The American College of Cardiology (ACC) Distinguished Awards

The ACC's Distinguished Awards recognize outstanding individuals making contributions to the cardiovascular profession. The ACC is proud to offer these awards to the researchers, scientists, and members of the CV Team.

Using Her Voice Scholars Program

The Using Her Voice Scholars Program connects early career women in cardiology with senior ACC leaders and helps them secure national and international speaking opportunities.

ACC Benevolence Fund

The ACC Benevolence Fund grants one-time financial awards of up to $1,500 to support Medical Students, Residents and Fellows in Training experiencing an unexpected financial hardship. Awards are granted to help applicants overcome a short-term challenge and stay on track toward a career in cardiology.

Thad and Gerry Waites Rural Cardiovascular Research Fellowship

To support an early-career cardiovascular clinician committed to reducing cardiovascular disparities in rural and underserved populations through innovative, data-driven clinical interventions, community engagement and rigorous implementation science research.

Global Digital Health Award

Offered to groundbreaking international companies and technologies that are transforming care delivery through digital health solutions.

Young Investigator Awards

The Young Investigator Awards (YIA) competition encourages and recognizes young scientific investigators of promise to battle it out at ACC's Annual Scientific Session. Award categories includes, Clinical Investigations, Basic & Translational Science, and Outcomes Research.

Hani Najm Global Scholar Award

The Hani Najm Global Scholar Award encourages the sharing of knowledge between international cardiology professionals to combat the devastating effects of cardiovascular disease worldwide. The program is an opportunity for early career cardiologists in the Middle East and Africa to shadow practicing cardiologists at a US hospital.

William A. Zoghbi Global Research Initiative

The William A. Zoghbi Global Research Initiative aims to provide a springboard for innovative new research in countries outside of the U.S. that hold potential to improve the care and outcomes of patients living with cardiovascular disease. Seven awards will be given to support one year of research across the spectrum of cardiovascular care.

Douglas P. Zipes Distinguished Young Scientist Award

The Douglas P. Zipes Distinguished Young Scientist Award recognizes young physician scientists who have contributed to the field of cardiovascular disease and who have amassed an impressive body of scientific research in either the basic or clinical domains.

ACC/ABC Merck Research Fellowship Award

The American College of Cardiology, the Association of Black Cardiologists, and Merck are proud to support three fellows currently in an adult cardiology fellowship training program to pursue a full-time project in clinical research during their year of supported training.
