The Using Her Voice Scholars Program is designed to elevate the careers of emerging, talented women in academic cardiology by providing tailored support and meaningful networking opportunities.


Women have historically been underrepresented in academic medicine, particularly in tenured and leadership roles. To address this gap, the Academic Cardiology Member Section's Women in Academic Cardiology Work Group is launching the Using Her Voice Scholars Program to connect participants with senior ACC leaders and help them secure speaking opportunities.

As a woman in academic medicine, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to be seen and heard. Speaking invitations are critical for promotion and leadership, yet women are too often overlooked. We started the Using Her Voice Scholars Program to help change that – by connecting women in cardiology with senior advocates, we hope Using Her Voice will be able to open doors, amplify the voices, and support the careers of talented women in academic medicine!
