The ACC FIT Leadership Council welcomes you to another academic year! We extend a special welcome to the first-year general fellows. We recognize all the hard work it takes to secure a spot. You are at the precipice of the world of cardiology which, in our biased opinion, is a wonderful place to be. The first year has a steep learning curve, so remember to be kind to yourself and others.

For seasoned fellows returning to another year of training, we know that you have already hit many milestones and are setting goals for more: you may be deciding on sub-specialty, you may be mastering new skills, or you may be near the end of your training and looking for your first job.

Wherever you are in fellowship, we hope you will choose ACC as your professional home.

The ACC FIT Leadership Council hopes to provide content and services that benefit you. We can help you navigate your training, seek mentorship, sharpen your clinical acumen, collaborate with other FITs, engage your non-clinical interests and give back to our medical resident and student communities. We know that you are talented and motivated, and we would be thrilled with your participation at the local or national level.

There are many ways to engage with the ACC FIT Council, including:

  • Follow @ACCinTouch and search #ACCFIT on X, and save the date for upcoming webinars.
  • Keep an eye out for emails from Bethany Parker.
  • If you are a Chief FIT, plan to be a part of the Chief FIT Network.
  • Stay up to date by reading the monthly ACC On-Call For FITs Section Newsletter.
  • Look out for applications to become an official ACC FIT Editorial Fellow in the Fall of 2025.
  • Look out for applications to join the FIT Council in Fall 2025 at nominations.acc.org.
  • Interested in Advocacy? Plan to attend the ACC Legislative Conference 2025, taking place Oct. 5-7 in Washington, DC.
  • Plan to attend ACC.26, taking place March 28-30, 2026, in New Orleans, LA, and visit us in the Young Professionals Lounge to network and learn with colleagues!
  • If you are graduating from training, Congratulations! Consider becoming a FACC member to continue your membership with ACC.

We hope to be a useful resource for you, and we hope you will be an enthusiastic collaborator in our efforts to improve the landscape for FITs.

We encourage you to reach out to us at fellowsintraining@acc.org to share your interests, ideas, and feedback.
