Calculate 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule Payment Impacts
Work, practice, expense and liability relative value units (RVUs) are updated annually through Medicare Physician Fee Schedule rulemaking. In response to the recently released 2026 Medicare PFS final rule, the ACC has developed a PFS calculator so that clinicians and administrators can estimate the potential impact of changes to their practices. The tool also includes new codes and/or values for PCI, lower extremity revascularization, left atrial appendage occlusion and more.
Of note, many services see impacts due to the broad policy updates, including a 2.5% efficiency adjustment reduction and changes to the indirect cost payment formula reducing reimbursements for many services provided in the hospital setting. Many facility-based services, including PCI, valve therapies, ablation, implantable devices and others, see significant total RVU reductions from these policies.
Savings from these provisions contribute to a fee schedule conversion factor increase, resulting in some services seeing increases in reimbursement for 2026.
