Section Update

FIT SectionWe hope you are as excited as we are about the incredible opportunities during the year ahead! On behalf of the FIT Section Leadership Council, we would like to thank Michael Cullen, MD, for his extraordinary contributions as Council Chair over the past year.

We invite you to explore our newly refurbished, bi-monthly FIT Newsletter. Inside this issue, you'll find contributions from your FIT Liaisons regarding the next steps following the historic Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) repeal. Feel inspired? Then register for the 2015 ACC Legislative Conference in Washington, DC and apply for an ACC Travel Award. Last year, we touted a record number of FITs engaging in advocacy on Capitol Hill! For those who have a strong passion for advocacy, consider applying for the Emerging Advocates program. Let's keep the momentum moving forward.

This newsletter series will also regularly feature some practical tips regarding personal finance. Yearning for more? Check out the brand new monthly webinar series on non-clinical competencies, which focuses on Financial Strategies for Physicians in June 2015. Last but certainly not least, reflect on the pearls of wisdom on our mentorship page and sign up for the ACC Mentoring Program.

There is no time better than the present to get involved in the ACC. We sincerely hope all FITs discover their passion – whether it is research, education, leadership, advocacy or something else – within the College. For more information on these or other opportunities, please contact fellowsintraining@acc.org.

Comments? Feedback? Suggestions? We want to hear from you on how we can best serve your needs. Here's to a productive and rewarding 2015 – 2016!
