Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the start of the 2017 – 2018 academic year and a special welcome to our incoming Fellows in Training (FITs) from around the world!

As you progress through your training in preparation for a long and rewarding career in cardiology, please take a few moments to explore the many opportunities afforded by your complementary membership in the ACC. Our goal is to ensure that the ACC remains your professional home for years to come.

The goal of the FIT Section is to provide you with a variety of high-yield clinical and non-clinical content related to your fellowship training. The majority of our content is housed on the FIT Webpage where you can find archives to our FIT Newsletter and content related to advocacy, career development, chapter engagement, international membership and education.

Additionally, we have a number of exceptional programs planned for the year:

• Webinar Series – Monthly webinars hosted by prominent speakers on topics such as finding an academic job, the business of cardiology and advocacy.
• Transitions Tool Kit to help guide graduating fellows to their first job.
• Pre-Legislative Conference session for FITs in collaboration with Early Career and Women in Cardiology Sections.
• ACC.18 FIT Lounge and FIT Sessions including the 3rd Annual Battle of the State Chapters FIT Jeopardy Competition.

Lastly, we want to hear from you! We are always looking for motivated and talented FITs to contribute to our already popular (and growing) section. We have a number of active working groups (Communications, Member Engagement, Education, Advocacy and Medical Resident) and up-and-coming working groups (International) for you to explore.
