ACC, ABIM Extend Deadlines For Completing 2020 CMP Requirements

The ACC and the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) have announced the extension of the 2020 Collaborative Maintenance Pathway (CMP) into 2021. The extension will provide clinicians with the flexibility to focus on their patients and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently certified physicians with a Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirement due in 2020 may have an additional year (through 2021) to complete that requirement. Physicians currently in their grace year have an additional grace year in 2021.

CMP topics for 2020 will extend into 2021. You must still spend 7 hours engaging in the educational material and scoring at least 70% on the practice questions throughout 2020 and 2021. These requirements must be completed before taking a Performance Assessment. Performance Assessments originally scheduled for 2020 will be extended into 2021.
