I am a cardiologist and clinical investigator constantly striving for clinical and academic excellence. My clinical interests lie in cardio-oncology, preventive cardiology, and imaging, and I am board certified in general cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT and vascular ultrasound interpretation. I have several years of research experience in translational science, risk prediction, biomarkers, vascular function, stem cell therapy amongst other fields. I have received several awards, including the Douglas P. Zipes Distinguished Young Scientist award, and have authored over 75 peer-reviewed publications, many in the highest impact journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, Circulation, Circulation Research, JACC, Nature Genetics and others. My research interests lie in deciphering the mechanisms underlying the association between kidney and cardiovascular disease, as well as the integration of novel high-throughput technologies such as metabolomics and genomics to implement and improve risk prediction algorithms in clinical practice, with the goal of optimizing patient care and resource allocation.
