On Monday, June 24, JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions will host a Twitter Chat on sex and gender gaps in interventional cardiology. JACC Journals recently published two manuscripts on this topic – Women in Medicine: Addressing the Gender Gap in Interventional Cardiology, and Sex Differences in the Pursuit of Interventional Cardiology as a Subspecialty Among Cardiovascular Fellows in Training. Article contributors Roxana Mehran, MD, FACC, and Sonya Burgess, MBChB, BSc, along with C. Michael Gibson, MD, will serve as moderators for this discussion. Journal Social Media Editors Yader B. Sandoval, MD, FACC, and Poonam Velagapudi, MD, FACC, will also help guide this discussion as a team of experts examine gender/sex disparities in the subspecialty and reflect on potential solutions to combat them.
