ACCEL Lite: Improving characterization of Stage A and B HF by adding Strain

Earlier detection of people at risk of HF would enable cardioprotection to be initiated earlier and damage avoided. Current imaging tools (eg. ejection fraction) are not sensitive enough to identify early disease. While GLS has been shown to predict outcomes, this study shows that its use improves the predictive power of the current definition of stage B HF.

In this interview, Professor Tom Marwick MBBS, PhD, MPH, FAHMS and John Gorcsan III MD, FACC discuss improving characterization of Stage A and B HF by adding strain.
