A statement from American College of Cardiology President-Elect Mary Norine Walsh, M.D., FACC, on the tobacco deeming rule released by the Food and Drug Administration:

"Marketing tobacco products, especially e-cigarettes, to children would slow the progress we've made in reducing heart disease brought about by the decline of smoking in the U.S.," said American College of Cardiology President-Elect Mary Norine Walsh, M.D., FACC. "The FDA's decision to restrict the availability, marketing, and sale of all tobacco products is a significant step forward."
