Goal
Anchoring on the ABIM Board Certification Blueprint, the overall goal of this course is to review and update knowledge and competency for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the full spectrum of interventional cardiology for physicians preparing for the initial certification exam or maintenance of certification assessment or seeking a comprehensive review of interventional cardiology.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to —

  • Recognize key concepts of vascular biology and atherosclerosis and the fundamental concepts of cardiovascular physiology
  • Identify thrombosis and the use of antithrombotic therapeutics, including antiplatelet, anticoagulant, and thrombolytic agents
  • Incorporate adult congenital heart disease and the application of interventional therapies including imaging fundamentals and pharmacologic adjuncts useful in PCI
  • Interpret and critique the findings of major clinical trials and existing interventional devices and techniques in interventional cardiology
  • Summarize ACC/AHA/SCAI guidelines regarding the practice of interventional cardiology, particularly with respect to indications for catheterization and intervention
  • Apply recent advances in mechanical support and cardiogenic shock to their practice
  • Improve confidence with taking the interventional board examinations including increased familiarity with multiple choice question format

Target Audience
This course is intended for interventional cardiology Fellows in Training preparing for initial board certification and practicing interventional cardiologists preparing for a maintenance of certification assessment or seeking an in-depth review of interventional cardiology. The secondary target audience is interventional cardiology team professionals, particularly physician assistants and advanced practice nurses.

Your purchase of the Gold package includes two products: CathSAP and the ACC/SCAI Interventional Cardiology Overview and Board Prep Course. Please see below for the associated cancellation policies:

CathSAP Cancellation Policy:
To receive a full refund on the portion of the package price covering CathSAP, you must cancel your order within 7 days. After 7 days, no refunds will be available for the portion of the package price covering CathSAP.

Course Cancellation Policy:
After 7 days, refunds for the portion of the package price covering the course will be issued as follows. Cancellation, substitution or transfer to another course is allowed if written notification is received four weeks before a scheduled course. A full refund minus a $250 processing fee will be given for written notifications received fewer than four weeks before the first day of the course. No refund will be given for no-shows. ACC reserves the right to cancel the course in the unlikely event of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a course is canceled or postponed, ACC will refund registration tuition but cannot be held responsible for other costs or expenses, including cancellation/change penalties assessed by airlines, travel agencies or hotels.

Accommodations
A block of rooms has been established at The Westin Georgetown. The room rate is $179 plus state and local taxes per night.
