Contemporary Management of Massive Pulmonary Embolism

Join us for a case-based discussion on the management of massive pulmonary embolism.

The ACC Vascular Disease Section and the Society for Vascular Medicine are collaborating on a webinar series focusing on vascular hot topics. Join us in June for a case-based discussion on the management of massive pulmonary embolism.

Pulmonary embolism, particularly massive pulmonary embolism associated with ongoing hemodynamic compromise, is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Patients with massive pulmonary embolism have historically been treated with systemic fibrinolytics. However, over the past decade, effective therapeutics for patients with submassive pulmonary embolism have increased raising questions whether our current treatment algorithms should be modified. During this case-based webinar, we will discuss the current classification scheme for patients with pulmonary embolism, identify established and novel risk stratification parameters, and explore the current therapeutic options for patients with massive pulmonary embolism.
