ACC Critical Care Cardiology Clinical Section Webinar: Women in Critical Care Cardiology
Sponsored by the ACC Critical Care Cardiology and Women in Cardiology Member Sections in collaboration with the ESC Association for Acute Cardiovascular Care.
Women in Critical Care Cardiology. This webinar aims to deliver tools for academic advancement, networking, and social community to women interested in CCC. Critical care cardiology (CCC) is a rapidly expanding specialty that delivers acute care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and noncardiac ICU-level comorbidities. With the aging of the population, noncardiac comorbidities are increasing among cardiac ICU patients, resulting in a rising demand for specialized cardiology-based care in dedicated intensive care units (ICUs). There is growing evidence that including practitioners with critical care medicine expertise in ICU staffing models improves patient outcomes.
