The overall goal of this education, in alignment with the 2020 ACC Clinical Competencies for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in Adult Cardiovascular Medicine, is to provide participants with an update on contemporary medicine and its use to treat hypertension.

In this webinar, you will hear about preparatory educational content for the Certified Cardiovascular Knowledge Examination - For NPs/PAs practicing in the U.S.

Key Objectives/Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this educational session, and in alignment with the 2020 ACC Clinical Competencies for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in Adult Cardiovascular Medicine, participants should be able to:

  1. Know the methods to evaluate and manage hypertension in diverse patient populations
  2. Identify socioeconomic barriers impacting care of the patient with hypertension
  3. Utilize clinical practice guidelines to improve clinical decision making in patients with hypertension
  4. Describe mechanisms to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality associated with hypertension
