Course Chairs Eugene Yang, MD, MS, FACC and Tiffany C. Randolph, MD, MHA, FACC along with other leading experts, will provide an update on contemporary approaches and the latest best practice guidelines on hypertension management. Topics include the role of renal denervation as a treatment for uncontrolled or resistant hypertension, updated hypertension guidelines and current recommendations for renal denervation, strategies for determining which patients with uncontrolled or resistant hypertension are best suited for renal denervation and how to incorporate the procedure into patient management care plans.

Live demonstration stations will give attendees hands-on experience with renal denervation technology.

This course will educate the cardiac care team on the safety and efficacy of renal denervation, along with understanding its value as a potential option for their patients.

Goal
The overall goal of this education is for participants to be able to recognize the role of renal denervation as a treatment for uncontrolled or resistant hypertension, discuss updated hypertension guidelines and current recommendations for renal denervation, and determine which patients with uncontrolled or resistant hypertension are best suited for renal denervation to incorporate the procedure into patient management care plans.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the latest guidelines for managing hypertension in relation to current recommendations for renal denervation as a treatment for resistant or uncontrolled hypertension.
  2. Assess advanced hypertension management care plans and team-based care approaches for when to consider renal denervation treatment.
  3. Analyze how renal denervation may impact management for patients with hypertension in various practice environments, including roles of the healthcare team, reimbursement, and procedural considerations.
