FDA Approves Self-Expanding Peripheral Stent System
On Jan. 21, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the Protégé GPS Self-Expanding Peripheral Stent System, an implantable stent that delivers blood to the iliac arteries. The system consists of a thin, flexible, metal mesh stent and the delivery catheter. It is recommended for use in patients with narrowing of arteries caused by atherosclerosis.
