The ACC has been active in Argentina for many years, with the ACC Argentina Chapter forming in 2013 in partnership with both the Argentine Federation of Cardiology and the Argentine Society of Cardiology. The College, through its Chapter and society partnerships, is also working with hospitals and institutions throughout the country to improve care and provide clinical education.
Most recently, the Instituto Modelo de Cardiología, Privado S.R.L., in Córdoba, was recently recognized as part of the ACC International Center of Excellence (ICOE) Program. Hospitals recognized as an ICOE must participate in at least one NCDR Registry and have earned at least one ACC Accreditation Services accreditation.
In addition, several hospitals and institutions have expressed interest in ACC's new Global Heart Attack Treatment Initiative, which kicked off this fall and is quickly gaining traction globally. The program is designed to help hospitals and institutions in low- and middle-income countries improve STEMI care for patients with acute myocardial infarction by tracking and reporting evidence-based metrics and providing aggregated benchmarks.
