ACC Comments on Coverage of Noninvasive FFR For SIHD
As Noridian continues to review the Local Coverage Determination (LCD) for noninvasive computed tomography (CT)–derived fractional flow reserve (FFR-CT), ACC has submitted comments in response to the Medicare Administrative Contractor's request for feedback. The letter addresses concerns about several restrictions imposed by the LCD, including incomplete indications, use of FFR-CT in severe 3-vessel disease, indications related to coronary CT angiography (CCTA) image quality, and coverage for invasive FFR. Your ACC had opposed the restriction of coverage for invasive FFR should it be performed in addition to FFR-CT. Your ACC emphasized that invasive and noninvasive FFR as two different tests with different purposes and should be covered independently. ACC's Advocacy team anticipates a final policy in the coming months. Stay tuned to the Advocate and @Cardiology on Twitter for updates. Read the letter.
