ACC Accreditation Firsts: Vietnam Facilities Awarded For HF and Cardiac Cath Lab Programs, Tennessee Hospital Earns Chest Pain Center Certification
ACC Accreditation Services has reached two major milestones in its 25th year working to transform cardiovascular care, expanding both its global reach and support of Critical Access Hospitals.
Two hospitals in Vietnam – Vinmec Times City and Vinmec Central Park – demonstrated their dedication to guideline-driven cardiovascular care and process improvement, each earning Heart Failure Accreditation and Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation, and becoming the first International Center of Excellence to be awarded in Asia.
To qualify for accreditation, the Vietnamese health system developed a program to manage heart failure and coronary intervention, updated clinical protocols to align with ACC guidelines and recommendations, standardized capacity for all program staff and improved operations with innovative strategies.
Since implementing these improvements, their cardiology programs have reported significant results including reductions in hospital length-of-stay and complication rates.
The ACC also awarded its first Chest Pain Center Certification – a process geared toward helping Critical Access Hospitals and Freestanding Emergency Departments establish innovative methods of care for LOW-RISK, NSTE-ACS and STEMI patients – to West Tennessee Healthcare Camden General Hospital in Camden, Tennessee.
The facility met a range of requirements, including participation in ACC’s Chest Pain – MI Registry, to secure this achievement that demonstrates commitment to quality cardiovascular care for the community it serves.
