Professional Bio:
Zaher Fanari,MD, FACC, FSCAI. is the Director of Interventional Cardiology and director of Structural Heart Disease at UCSF Fresno. After graduating as the valedictorian from University Of Aleppo, he trained in Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University, Cardiovascular Diseases at Thomas Jefferson University/Christiana Care Health System, Interventional Cardiology at the University Of Kansas and Structural, Endovascular and CHIP at Prairie Heart Institute. Then in 2017 he joined Heartland cardiology/Wesley medical center at Wichita where he build a large structural program then in 2022 he decided to join UCSF Fresno as Director of Interventional Cardiology and director of Structural Heart Disease at UCSF Fresno. Dr. Fanari is proficient in performing complex PCI, renal, iliac, femoral, popliteal, BTK interventions and carotid stenting, as well as TEVAR, EAVR, TAVR, TMVR, MitraClip, Watchman, PFO/ASD closure and TEE. He received multiple research awards including being a finalist at the Young Investigator Awards (YIA) Competition at ACC 2015 and 11th Annual Northwestern Cardiovascular Forum 2015. Similarly I was the recipient of the Top 15 Abstracts Award at CRT 2016, Top 30 Abstracts Award at CRT 2017, ASE Abstract Presenter Travel Grant 2015, ACC interventional Council Grant 2017 and Focus on Excellence Award at Christiana Care. He serves on multiple leadership committees in the ACC including: the ACC Interventional Section Leadership Council, ACC Structural Heart Disease Working Group, ACC CHIP (Complex High-risk Indicated Patients) Working Group, ACC Interventional Council Communication Working Group and the ACC Patient Navigator Program Working Group. He is leading author in 65 manuscripts in addition to being a Co-author of a book “Landmark Clinical Trials in Cardiology.” He is the leading author in multiple book chapter including the Topol's Textbook of Interventional Cardiology and The PCR-EAPCI Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine Textbook. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular disease, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac CT, Nuclear Cardiology, vascular medicine and endovascular medicine.
