J. Jeffrey Marshall, MD, FACC

Professional Bio:

Dr. J. Jeffrey (Jeff) Marshall is currently the Chief of the Northside Hospital Cardiovascular Institute in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Marshall graduated from the University of Florida medical school and completed internal medicine, chief residency, cardiology and interventional cardiology training at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also served as an Assistant Professor. He then matriculated to Emory University in Atlanta where he was an Associate Professor and the Director of the Cath Lab at Crawford W. Long (now Emory Midtown) Hospital. He has been at Northside Cardiovascular Institute since 2019. Dr. Marshall has been active in interventional cardiology, research and advocacy for his entire career. He was instrumental in writing the Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) Act in Georgia (2017), that established levels of care for hospitals caring for patients with cardiac emergencies. He has been involved in the AMA HOD as a delegate in the Cardiology Caucus for the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and was the author of Eliminating Barriers to Surviving Acute MI (D-160.946) in 2022. Recently he was the Governor of the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and helped write the Board of Governor’s White Paper on Restrictive Covenants. He is the former President of the SCAI, the former Chairman of the Georgia Composite Medical Board, one of Georgia’s Governors for the Interstate Medical Licensure Commission and has served on the ABIM Cardiology Board. He lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife, Julie, of 45 years, has 4 children and 12 grandchildren.
