A Growing Body of Evidence For Pediatric and Adult CHD Patients

The IMPACT Registry — ACC's registry assessing the prevalence, demographics, management and outcomes of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease (CHD) patients who undergo diagnostic catheterizations and catheter-based interventions — recently welcomed its 100th participating hospital. Launched as a pilot project in 2009, the registry was implemented in December 2010 and now contains five years of robust data. While the IMPACT Registry is the NCDR's smallest in terms of both participant and patient record volume, the patient population included in the registry is truly unique and the registry provides unprecedented data and insights. The IMPACT Registry gathers data on diagnostic catheter procedures, atrial septal defect closure, coarctation procedures, aortic and pulmonary valvuloplasty, and more. Collected data has been used in seven published manuscripts and 10 presented abstracts. Learn more about the IMPACT Registry on CVQuality.ACC.org.
