CV Team Ambassadors Program
The team-based care model has long been central to the ACC's mission and vision. It's why the College first extended membership to advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, PAs, clinical pharmacists and other Cardiovascular Team members in 2003.
Now, the ACC is applying a team-based approach to its recruitment and retention efforts. The new CV Team Ambassadors program is designed to bolster CV Team representation within the College and reinforce the ACC's status as the professional home for all members of the care team.
A multidisciplinary group of cardiovascular professionals including a cardiologist (FACC), a CV registered nurse, an advanced practice provider (NP, PA or PharmD), a CV technologist and a data/health IT specialist will be tasked with promoting membership to colleagues within their own hospital/health system and with onboarding new members and ensuring they are aware of the benefits, resources and opportunities for involvement available to them.
The 2019 pilot program focused on five institutions in the New Orleans area. The CV Team Ambassadors Program is currently focusing on institutions in Kentucky.
