Research presented at Heart Rhythm 2022 and simultaneously published in JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology highlights the lack of reliable data regarding the number of board-certified female or underrepresented minority (URM) electrophysiologists in the U.S. as part of a call to increase representation in the field. "Identifying and addressing barriers for female and URM fellows' interest in and pursuit of both cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology is an important step to increase representation," the authors write.
