Hussein Abu Daya
Co-Chair, ACC FIT Advocacy Work Group

Hussein is an AOA graduate of the American University of Beirut, completed a research fellowship at Columbia University, medical residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he is currently an Interventional Cardiology Fellow. In the College, Hussein has been an engaged member of the FIT Council and is in the current cohort of the Leadership Academy. His advocacy journey with ACC started by being active at his local ACC Chapter in Alabama and attending all of the major conferences (Leadership Forum, Scientific Session, Legislative Conference). For the FIT Council, Hussein has led advocacy initiatives as the Chair of the ACC FIT Advocacy Working Group engaging and mobilizing other FIT members to contribute to advocacy social media campaigns, publish in the FIT newsletter, attend Legislative Conference, participate in the ACC PACers Program, host a Congressional Member, and participate in state lobby days.
Erik Frandsen

Erik is a pediatric cardiology fellow at University of Washington/Seattle Children's Hospital. He currently serves on the FIT Section Leadership Council and his interests pertain to congenital and acquired pediatric heart disease, transplant medicine.
Dapo Iluyomade
Member, ACC FIT Advocacy Work Group

Dapo is a chief fellow in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He first got involved in advocacy during a month-long elective at the National Coalition of Healthcare. Since then, he has been involved in local and statewide groups involved in improving access to care and healthcare outcomes. His interests pertain to preventive Cardiology, Sports Cardiology and healthcare administration. He was formerly a chief resident at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, N.Y.
Kathir Balakumaran

Kathir is currently completing his Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He has been involved in the Advocacy Group after attending his first Legislative Conference in 2018.
Nidhi Madan
Member, ACC FIT Advocacy Work Group

Nidhi is currently a third-year general cardiology fellow at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, USA where will continue her training in interventional cardiology from July 2020. She is one of the Fellow-in-training (FIT) representatives of the Illinois state chapter, member of the FIT Editorial Board for Chapter engagement, member of the Research and Publications Committee of NCDR CathPCI Registry. She also co-chairs the ACC Social Media Working Group for FIT activities relating to Women in Cardiology (WIC) and Diversity.
