Welcome to the Cardiology Interest Group (CIG) program of the ACC Medical Student Member Community!

What is CIG?
A Cardiology Interest Group (CIG) is an organized group of medical students who share a common interest in cardiology and meet regularly to learn more about the field. Under the supervision of a faculty advisor, student leaders develop CIG at their respective medical institutions and ensure that the group remains active.

Participating in a CIG at your institution is an excellent way to gain early exposure to the field of cardiology. As a member of these interest groups, you can begin building connections within the cardiology community, explore different career opportunities available and participate in exceptional extracurricular learning opportunities!

The CIG program was established in 2021 by ACC MSLG with the goal of connecting medical student cardiology communities across the globe and building a network of like-minded students interested in pursuing cardiology. The ACC aims to foster this connection of local and global members by offering recognition to student-led Cardiology Interest Groups around the world. As a recognized CIG, the ACC provides access to unique educational resources, networking opportunities and specialized meeting opportunities within cardiovascular medicine.

We promote diversity, equity and inclusion in medicine and encourage CIGs all over the world to share in this stance with us. CIG membership should be open to all students at every ACC affiliated institution.
