Welcome to the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease Section.

The ACC Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease Section was created in March 2014 and emerged from the original ACC Prevention Committee when it became clear that cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention, both nationally and globally, was becoming a key priority of the college. Today, the prevention section is one of the most active and important groups.

Our mission is to promote CVD prevention to our patients and cardiovascular team through advocacy, education, and research. The section serves as the primary home for ACC members interested in the broad area of CVD prevention. Our group includes members who are experts and leaders in all aspects of prevention, including cardiac imaging, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiometabolic disorders and diabetes, CVD risk assessment, digital strategy, disparities of care, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, nutrition and tobacco cessation.

Our mission is to promote CVD prevention to our patients and cardiovascular team through advocacy, education, and research.
