The goal of the WIC Advocacy Work Group is to increase WIC involvement in federal and state-level advocacy activities, legislator practice visits, grassroots communications, and Legislative Conference.

Communications Work Group

The ACC WIC Communications Work Group was established in December 2014 to create new ways to connect and collaborate with all ACC WIC members virtually. Over the years, they have introduced initiatives such as the #ChooseCardiology article series and quarterly #WICBOOK Club. The Work Group continues to cultivate a network of female cardiologists both on and offline. The development of ACC WIC state chapters and regional meetings provide opportunities for female cardiologists and trainees to connect locally.

WIC-Adult Congenital and Pediatric Cardiology (ACPC) Work Group

The section's newest Work Group, WIC-ACPC, was established in 2020. The group's mission is to address the unique challenges that women in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology encounter while strengthening the pipeline by creating and supporting professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities through the WIC Section.
