When you take on a new job or position, establish your clinical presence first and build your relationships, then take on more activities such as research and administration. Do not try to do it all at once!

Be resilient in the face of adversity and bounce back! There will be plenty of people who try to run you down in your career and take advantage of your goodness. Be calm, do not fight and always be professional – it does not matter in the big picture.

Always think of the big picture first – the little pieces of the puzzle will slide in.
