The ACC is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual for the position of Co-Editor of Heart Failure SAP – a new self-assessment program on heart failure that will be released in 2020. The new Heart Failure SAP will be developed in collaboration with the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA), and the position will work with a Co-Editor selected by HFSA and will report to the ACC SAP Editor-in-Chief. The Heart Failure SAP product will offer learners the option to study for their initial Board certification, stay up-to-date in the latest cardiovascular knowledge regarding heart failure, and include the new collaborative maintenance pathway option for Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.

Responsibilities of the ACC Co-Editor of Heart Failure SAP include:

  • Must be a Fellow in good standing of the ACC
  • Must be Board Certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
  • Must have broad and in-depth knowledge of the field, its current trends and advances. Must also be well-respected in the field of cardiovascular medicine, and strong evidence of scholarly pursuits
  • Ability to synthesize editorial and content input from a variety of key stakeholders and groups to create a robust, well-coordinated self-assessment online program in heart failure
  • Work with the ACC SAP Editor-in-Chief to develop a heart failure outline based on a blueprint
  • Create a content outline based on the above and identify authors to write the content
  • Review/read/edit all content to assure appropriate topical coverage
  • Prepare, with ACC staff, a timeline and deliverable schedule, adhere to timeline and deliverable schedule and motivate/engage the authors to do the same
  • Refrain from engaging in any advisory activity for a publication or product which competes with Heart Failure SAP, if the activity involves matters of policy or business strategy or has the potential for future remuneration
