Learner Objectives

The goal of this course is to prepare physicians for certification or recertification by enhancing competency in interventional cardiology.

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to —

  • Summarize key concepts of vascular biology and atherosclerosis and the fundamental concepts of cardiovascular physiology
  • Explain thrombosis and the use of antithrombotic therapeutics, including antiplatelet, anticoagulant and thrombolytic agents
  • Incorporate adult congenital heart disease and the application of interventional therapies in this setting, including imaging fundamentals and pharmacologic adjuncts useful in PCI
  • Interpret and critique the findings of major clinical trials and existing interventional devices and techniques in interventional cardiology
  • Recall ACC/AHA/SCAI guidelines regarding the practice of interventional cardiology, particularly with respect to indications for catheterization and intervention
  • Apply recent advances in mechanical support to their practice

MOC Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 30.75 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

While offering credits noted above, the course is not intended to provide extensive training or certification in the field.

Cancellation, substitution or transfer to another course is allowed if written notification is received four weeks before a scheduled course. A full refund minus a $250 processing fee will be given for written notifications received fewer than four weeks before the first day of the course. No refund will be given for no-shows.

In the unlikely event that the course is canceled, the College will refund the registration tuition in full but is not responsible for any travel or hotel costs you may incur.

ACC reserves the right to cancel the course in the unlikely event of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a course is canceled or postponed, ACC will refund registration tuition but cannot be held responsible for other costs or expenses, including cancellation/change penalties assessed by airlines, travel agencies or hotels.

The room rate is $259 plus state and local taxes per night. The cut-off date for our hotel room block has past and the hotel is close to being sold out.
