Poll Results: LDL Levels Post-ACS

In all, 247 users responded to our recent poll asking what low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels you target post-treatment of an acute coronary syndrome. Perhaps in anticipation of the new cholesterol guidelines that were released in November, the most common answer, which was chosen by almost 2/3 of respondents, was to target an LDL <70. A small portion (approximately 1/4 of respondents) target different values of either <100 or <50, and 4 users responded that they target <30! Given the controversy over the previous guidelines, it's perhaps not surprising that only a small minority (about 11% of respondents) indicated that they do not target a specific LDL value as per guidelines but instead use maximal statin treatment.
