The ACC International Center of Excellence (ICOE) Program recognizes hospitals outside of the United States for their commitment to high standards of medical practice and their dedication to providing quality cardiovascular care.

Becoming an International Center of Excellence signifies your dedication and commitment to quality patient care. Designations are reviewed and awarded annually to ensure that all facilities continue to meet the parameters and criteria of a highly-regarded and sustainable quality improvement program. The essential elements of the ICOE designation include:

  • Participation in at least one NCDR Registry
  • One earned CV Accreditation offered by the ACC
  • Use of ACC educational resources and membership for cardiovascular staff

Benefits of participation in the ICOE program include:

  • Comprehensive technical support
  • Quarterly benchmark reports showing your hospital data as compared to the US aggregate
  • Access to our online data collection tool and other 'members-only' resource content
  • Access to our clinical quality consultants for ongoing support via email and phone
  • Quarterly conference calls and/or webinars with your team as needed
  • Opportunity to participate in NCDR sponsored research
  • Two complimentary registrations to the ACC Annual Quality Summit
  • CardioSourcePlus provides access to ACC's online educational resources for up to 20 members of your institution (fellows, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals)
  • ACC International Associate Membership and Cardiovascular Team membership for hospital staff

Awarded recognition will include:

  • Use of designated ACC Center of Excellence logo (for as long as you are an active NCDR participant and have an active ACC CV accreditation)
  • Certificate of recognition
  • ACC recognition as a Center of Excellence in multiple international communications
  • Recognition by your peers
