ACC Kicks Off Educational Webinar Series in Russia
The ACC, in partnership with Pfizer, launched the webinar component of its Global Education Program on Heart Disease Prevention in Russia on Feb. 20 with an educational webinar, titled "The Problem of Atherosclerosis and Related Heart Disease." The first webinar in a three-part series in Russia focused on the primary prevention of heart disease, including aspects of epidemiology, analysis of risk factors, treatment guidelines, and how doctors can work with their patients to emphasize lifestyle modification and medication adherence. The ACC will continue to work alongside the Russian Society of Cardiology to provide customized educational resources addressing region-specific obstacles in the upcoming webinars. "Pfizer’s collaboration with the ACC and the Russian Cardiology Society aims to support the policy efforts in Russia to increase life expectancy. Educating health care professionals in cardiovascular disease primary and secondary prevention is an important step towards achieving that goal," said Alla Ryzhankova, MD, the Russian medical lead for Pfizer Essential Health.
