JACC Spanish: A Project to Improve Global CV Care

In a recent Guest Editor's Page published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), Antoni BayƩs de Luna, MD, FACC, and Adrian M. Baranchuk, MD, FACC, discuss the barriers to accessing information and desire for readers to stay up-to-date on the most important advances in cardiovascular diseases in their own languages.

To that end, JACC has launched online versions in Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese to help the large community of health care providers around the world access the most relevant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In JACC in Spanish, each original paper is translated and published together with a commentary by a key opinion leader from a Spanish-speaking country.

JACC in Spanish has received great feedback in the last year, but the authors note that "we now face the new challenges of increasing our visibility and planning future alternatives so that we can reach everywhere in the world, no matter how small, where JACC in Spanish could contribute to improving patient care."
