Welcome to the Women in Cardiology (WIC) Member Section! If you are a woman physician practicing in the field of cardiology, no matter what your sub-specialty — the WIC Section is your home! The WIC Section provides you with a forum to collaborate with women of all areas and backgrounds to address the issues that are most important to you. Whether you are a fellow in training, early career professional, Fellow of the ACC (FACC) or even an International Associate, the Section has something for every woman. Network, share your ideas, find a mentor, develop your leadership skills, advance your career, and much more.
There are multiple ways for you to get involved: help to develop ideas for position papers and manuscripts relevant to our field, attend one of our Leadership Workshops, find a mentor, or start a WIC Section within your local Chapter. We want the WIC Section to be a home where we can come together and support one another as we continue to advocate for the interests of female cardiologists and encourage young women to pursue careers in cardiovascular medicine.
The WIC Section currently has the following established work group:
- Communications — Chairs: Mahazarin B. Ginwalla, MD, MS, FACC and Gina Price Lundberg, MD, FACC
Please join us in making the WIC Section the home for female cardiologists at the ACC. Any and all ideas are welcome. The Section is YOUR opportunity to engage with the College within your interest area. Email Lindsey Santamaria at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
