The PDGME Section members include physicians, fellowship trainees, program administrators, and the multiple cardiovascular team members, all of whom have a common goal: Excitement and Collaboration around advancing the field of education and training of the Fellows in Training (FITs) across the spectrum of cardiovascular disease. The Section seeks to facilitate the training of the future cardiovascular physician workforce and to serve as a resource for salient cardiovascular education and training issues.

The ACC PDGME Section members and Leadership Council will work within the College to advance cardiovascular science and practice through research and education, establish training criteria and guidelines and influence health care policy.

ACC’s new “Meeting in a Box” is full of all the materials you need to host an engaging live or virtual program – developed by ACC’s expert faculty to support clinicians in understanding when and how to use advanced monitoring and device therapies in heart failure (HF) care. Developed as part of ACC’s new free online course, Beyond the Pill: Advancing HF Care With Monitoring and Device Therapy, the materials can be used in their entirety or curated to suit unique audiences. Learn more.

ACC’s Interventional Council Encourages Interventional Cardiology Programs to Stay in the Match

Interventional cardiology training programs educate the next generation of physicians who will advance the field. Yet, over the first two Interventional Cardiology Match cycles, there has been a surplus of fellowship positions relative to the number of applicants. In a new discussion posted on DocMatter, ACC’s Interventional Cardiology Member Section’s Leadership Council encourages programs to stay in the Match and evaluate their recruitment and training processes to support the next generation of interventional cardiologists.
